While the
pictures and videos of India cricket captain Virat Kohli and his team
celebrating the victory over England in all three formats of the game were
going viral hardly anyone noticed India losing to arch rivals Pakistan. Yes!
India were playing a match against Pakistan, a World Cup match no less on home

Looking at the
record India is billed as favorites and India did their reputation no harm with
an emphatic 129 run win against Bangladesh in their first league match followed
by a mammoth 142 run win against West Indies Their 7 wickets loss
against Pakistan did put some brakes on but the host have gained winning momentum once again with 10 wicket win against England in their last match.
Former India Captain Rahul Dravid is the ambassador for
tournament hosted by Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), the
cricketing arm of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled.
Replying to a query, Dravid said blind cricket was not as
popular when it started due to lack of awareness and opportunity, but has grown
in the last four years. “Blind cricket, to begin with, was small, not huge. May
be it was lack of awareness and opportunity, but over the last three to four
years even the blind cricket has grown a lot and is going in right direction,”
he said.
Lets hope that there will be more awareness about cricket
for blind in India and all over the world. Lets not turn a blind eye on these
incredible players.
