England's swashbuckling batsman Kevin Pietersen has opted
out for tenth edition of Indian Premier League which is scheduled to begin in
the first week of April. Pietersen 36, have cited a busy winter as the the
reason for the decision not to play in IPL 2017.
Pietersen spent the winter playing the domestic T20 tournament
in South Africa and the Big Bash
League in Australia where he he was immensely successful for Dolphins and
Melbourne Stars respectively.
"I won't be going into the IPL auction,"My winter has been too busy with all my travel & I don't want to spend April/May away too!" " Pietersen said on Twitter. Pietersen who has turned out for five different teams in the IPL was a part of Rising Pune Supergiants squad who were playing their first season last year. The Englishman is likely to play in PSL tournament from February 9 to March 5 where he represents Quetta Gladiators led by Pakistan's wicket keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed.
